Club Growth Isn't an Accident (See page5)
By Kelly Savine, Published: Tuesday, February 5, 2013 You may be asking (or I hope you are) why I didn’t join a Kiwanis club during my time in Missouri. I did consider it, and reached out to a club or two, but I didn’t feel the connection I felt to this club. The Kiwanis Club of Ypsilanti impressed me for one reason: enthusiasm. |

One of the group's newest members, Rachel Webster, built a new website (ypsilantikiwanis.weebly.com) for the club. Webster is an Eastern Michigan University graduate with a degree in graphic design. In addition, this year club members started a monthly satellite meeting held in the evening, as opposed to daytime hours. "We're stepping up and letting people know we're here," Clayborne said. "We're trying to do our part for the community."
Clayborne has received numerous benefits from participating in Kiwanis such as the mentors she has found from being in the organization and the wisdom she has received from other members. "The organization, in general, has changed my life and how I look at the world," she said. "I can't stress enough how great this organization is. I'm working to make it well known, especially in Ypsilanti."
